Our Story
Our story begins 20 years ago, when Steve got interested in running sled dogs. That eventually formed a dream of owning a place in the Upper Peninsula near Culhane Lake.
Sometime later, a musher friend passed away so we looked at his former lodge. The spot wasn’t quite right for us, but the realtor mentioned Culhane Lake Resort was on the market. While the cabins needed work we saw many possibilities to own our own retreat.
Culhane Lake Resort is located 29 miles north of Newberry, Michigan and about one mile south of Lake Superior. Our remote property supplies it’s own solar power to the four cabins to enjoy modern conveniences “off the grid”.
